One Week + Two FOFs = Two Burgers

This week we are doing something a little different. We are featuring two stuffed burgers!!

There are a couple of good friends of Foley's visiting this week and I couldn’t pick one over the other, since both were “firsts,” for Foley’s.

The first burger is for our good buddy and IABHOFer Joe McEwing, who is now the bench coach for the Chicago White Sox. But we knew him way back when…. Joe was the very first to sign a ball for Foley’s. We are close to 4000 now, but you always remember your first.

Joe has always been a good friend of Foley`s. (#FOF). We welcomed him as a player, a minor league manager, a major league coach and we look forward to welcoming him as a major league manager very soon.

Speaking of managers, the second burger this week honors the first manager to

visit Foley's: Ron Gardenhire. While he’s now the skipper of the Detroit Tigers, I met him first through our mutual friend Stelly (Rick Stelmaszek, R.I.P., who we honored earlier this season). Gardy has made many trips to Foley`s. One of my favorite pieces of memorabilia is a T-shirt he sent me for his 1000th win and 67th ejection! One night, he was at Foley’s and there happened to be the parents of a major league umpire at another table. Gardy asked to meet them and sat and chatted with them for a long while. A class guy!

We are delighted to welcome them both back. And honor them with our stuffed burgers.

The Joe McEwing is stuffed with what else but his Irish Mac and cheese and served with fries.

The Gardy Party Burger is stuffed with a mini hot dog and American cheese (a classic just like Gardy) & served with coleslaw.
