Memorial Day at Foley's

I’m not a veteran. I never had the honor to serve either my native land or my adopted country nor have i lost a loved one in war. I do respect the service and sacrifices that so many have made so that we can live our lives in peace and harmony (kinda).

With Memorial Day upon us, while we are certainly happy say goodbye to snow and get ready for beach, BBQs and baseball, here at Foley`s we want to take this week to make sure to thank all of those members of the military who made the ultimate sacrifice for us and the families they left behind. The total proceeds of this week's stuffed burger, The Red White and Blue Burger, will go to the Semper Fi Fund.

The Semper Fi Fund is an organization dedicated to providing assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured service men and their families. Though it's name comes from their motto, it serves all branches of the military not just Marines.

Even though Memorial Day is to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice I would also like to tip my cap to everyone who has served and their families That include both of Kristie’s Granddads, our former manager Bryan Torres, our good pal major league umpire Laz Diaz and many many more. We tip our caps to their families too, because they sacrifice for our country as well. As a rule I try never to be political, but be careful out there. If you are buying products with camouflage or dedicated to Memorial Day, make sure the proceeds are going to help veterans of Gold Star families.
